Hi, I’m Kitty.
I’m an Irish-born author writing Dublin-set cozy mysteries that blend knitting, community, and just enough danger to keep you turning the pages.
My debut, Purls and Peril, is the first in the Maeve Lynch Knitting Mystery series, set in Dublin. In Skeins and Secrets, Maeve and her friends are drawn into another murder, this time at the Fáilte Fiber Festival in the heart of the city.
There is also a festive novella, Twists and Twinkle, set in a local shopping centre, where a holiday prank quickly turns into something far more serious.
The latest book, Motifs and Malice (out April 24), sees Maeve facing her most complex case yet, with secrets that run deeper than they first appear and consequences that hit closer to home.
When I’m not plotting fictional murders, you’ll usually find me with needles in hand, knitting something new, or exploring local coffee shops in search of the perfect flat white.

For me, writing cozy mysteries feels like inviting readers to sit down with a warm cup of tea, a skein of yarn, and a bit of gossip. I write because I love weaving everyday details - knitting projects, friendly chats, the comfort of familiar places - into stories where something unexpected stirs beneath the surface. It’s my way of celebrating community, while adding a twist of mischief to keep things interesting.
About my stories
The Maeve Lynch Knitting Mysteries are all about ordinary people caught up in extraordinary situations - with a loyal dog or two never far away. You’ll find gossip, friendship, tea and biscuits, and a few tangled skeins of yarn alongside the puzzles and clues. At the heart of each story is the belief that community (and a good sense of humour) can help unravel even the knottiest of mysteries.
